About the Role
We are seeking a Network Tier 3 Engineer to serve as a Key Personnel position supporting the Executive Airlift Communications Network (EACN) Support contract. This role provides network analysis and design services to engineer, evaluate, and recommend new technologies to meet EACN requirements and optimize network/system performance. The engineer will assist the EACN Government Engineers with overarching oversight of the EACN platform, including Configuration/Change Management, Technical Architecture, and current/future state planning.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide network analysis and design services to engineer, evaluate, and recommend new technologies.
- Assist in troubleshooting network issues experienced at JBA and JBLM operational A2G2's and platforms that access the A2G2.
- Support the EACN A2G2 hardware configuration and installation requirements once approved by the EACN Government Engineers.
- Establish and maintain the A2G2 baseline configuration (EBC) and SIL, including installation and functional testing of new software versions, TCTOs, patches, TCNOs, and other applicable directives.
- Implement modifications to the A2G2 baseline configuration to support communications for additional OSA/EA, MAF, and RORO assets.
- Assist to install, remove, or replace equipment, make configuration changes, or train new incoming Government and/or contractor personnel on A2G2 configuration standards.
- Provide the EACN Government Engineers with a Network Installation and Configuration Guide (CDRL 009) prior to any changes made to the operational system, network, or gateway.
- Ensure any new hardware, software, or configuration changes are documented, installed, and tested in the SIL before changes are made at operational A2G2's.
- Provide technical support to configure and maintain a test and evaluation gateway as an extension of the EACN SIL.
- Update local checklists, policies, diagrams, and documents related to the EACN.
- Perform network/system backups IAW DISA STIG and EACN Government Engineers guidance.
- Recommend configuration changes to the EACN Government Engineers and identify new requirements.
- Create scripts, executables, graphs, and maps to configure and utilize networked computers.
- Keep servers running by performing disk management, cleanup, backups, and associated approved updates/patches.
- Configure and implement in-depth fault tolerance on disaster recovery solutions on servers and network devices.
- Support and sustain the VoIP capability installed in the Scott SIL and in the JBA/JBLM/SAFB operational A2G2 environment.
- Design and implement technical solutions for integration of new network transport capabilities into EACN.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in network engineering.
- Experience with network analysis, design, and troubleshooting in classified and unclassified environments.
- Experience with routers, switches, firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, data encryption, and network management.
- Experience with TCP/IP v4 and v6, ethernet, ISDN circuit switched network with BRI/PRI, commercial SATCOM, and communications protocols.
- Experience with Windows and Linux/Unix servers, VMware, and storage area networks.
Certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) required.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of a four (4) year course of study in a relevant field leading to a bachelor's degree, or a combination of successfully completed post-high school education and/or training experiences that meet the total qualification requirements for this position level.
- Active TOP SECRET Security Clearance at time of contract award.
- Must pass a criminal background check and Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA).
Preferred:
- Prior experience supporting U.S. Air Force or DoD communications programs.
- Experience with DISA STIGs, ACAS, and USCYBERCOM orders.
- Experience with Cisco Catalyst switches, ASR routers, and cryptographic devices.
- Experience with SolarWinds, Splunk, or other network monitoring tools.
Work Environment
- Location: Scott AFB, IL (On-site required).
- Travel: Local travel authorized; travel outside the local region (CONUS and OCONUS) may be required and will be reimbursed in accordance with FAR 31.2 and Public Law 99-234.
- Hours: Normal Government working hours, 0630-1730, Monday through Friday, local time, excluding Federal holidays.
- On-Site: Required at Government installation unless the Government requires remote telework.
- Security: A personal security clearance is required. A Common Access Card (CAC) is required for all contractors.
