Corporate Safety Manager

E-Logic, Inc. is seeking an experienced Corporate Safety Manager to serve as Key Personnel supporting federal construction, demolition, asbestos abatement, and regulated-material abatement projects. The Corporate Safety Manager will oversee E-Logic's corporate and project-level safety program and serve as the primary safety point of contact with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Safety Office.

The position will oversee safety activities across multiple project sites, provide technical direction to Site Safety and Health Officers (SSHOs), review and approve safety documentation, oversee accident and mishap investigations, and ensure compliance with applicable USACE, OSHA, EPA, NIOSH, and other federal safety requirements.

Job Summary

The Corporate Safety Manager will establish, manage, and monitor comprehensive safety programs for E-Logic's federal construction and environmental projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with demolition, asbestos and regulated-material abatement, heavy construction, accident prevention, hazard analysis, and federal construction safety requirements.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Travel: Required to federal project sites throughout the Midwest and Northeast

Working Hours

Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with flexibility based on project requirements. Periodic travel to active project sites, military installations, and federal facilities is required. Site visits, inspections, investigations, and meetings may require schedules outside normal business hours.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Program Management

  • Lead and manage E-Logic's corporate safety program for federal construction and environmental projects.
  • Establish and maintain safety policies, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of safety requirements across multiple project sites.
  • Provide safety guidance to project managers, superintendents, SSHOs, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Monitor safety performance and implement corrective actions.

USACE & Government Coordination

  • Serve as E-Logic's primary safety point of contact with the USACE Safety Office.
  • Coordinate with Government safety representatives regarding inspections, deficiencies, corrective actions, and safety documentation.
  • Ensure project safety programs comply with USACE EM 385-1-1.
  • Support Government inspections, audits, meetings, and safety reviews.

Accident Prevention & Hazard Analysis

  • Develop, review, and approve Accident Prevention Plans (APPs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
  • Evaluate construction activities and work methods to identify hazards and establish appropriate controls.
  • Review changes in project scope, sequencing, and work methods for safety impacts.

Site Safety Oversight

  • Provide technical oversight and direction to SSHOs and other safety personnel.
  • Monitor safety performance across geographically dispersed project sites.
  • Conduct safety inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Verify corrective actions are implemented and documented.
  • Ensure required safety training and documentation are maintained.

Demolition & Abatement Safety

  • Oversee safety programs involving:
  • Building demolition
  • Asbestos abatement
  • Lead abatement
  • Regulated-material removal
  • Heavy construction
  • Hazardous-material activities
  • Ensure appropriate controls for fall protection, respiratory hazards, confined spaces, excavation, demolition, and other construction hazards.

Accident & Mishap Investigations

  • Lead or oversee accident, injury, incident, near-miss, and mishap investigations.
  • Identify contributing factors and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare required investigation reports and track corrective actions through completion.

Regulatory Compliance

Ensure compliance with applicable:

  • USACE EM 385-1-1
  • OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and 1910
  • ANSI and NFPA standards
  • EPA and TSCA requirements
  • NIOSH guidance
  • Workers' compensation requirements
  • Applicable federal, state, and local regulations

Maintain OSHA 300-series records and accurate safety reports, inspection records, training documentation, and corrective-action records.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Safety and Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Construction Safety, or a related field; or
  • At least 15 years of directly relevant safety experience without a bachelor's degree.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of safety experience involving general industry and construction.
  • 15 years of relevant experience required without a degree.
  • Experience managing safety programs for demolition, abatement, heavy construction, or similarly hazardous projects.
  • Experience managing safety programs across multiple concurrent project sites.
  • Experience supervising or providing technical direction to SSHOs or equivalent safety personnel.
  • Experience conducting accident, incident, and mishap investigations.
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, and approving APPs and AHAs.

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of federal construction safety requirements.
  • Working knowledge of USACE EM 385-1-1.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA construction and general-industry regulations.
  • Knowledge of demolition, asbestos, lead, and regulated-material abatement safety.
  • Strong hazard identification and risk-assessment skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with Government representatives, project management, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and safety priorities independently.

Software Requirements

  • Experience with USACE Resident Management System (RMS) or a comparable construction management platform.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Experience with OSHA 300-series recordkeeping and electronic safety documentation.

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
  • Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO)
  • Safety and Health Leadership (SHL) or comparable certification
  • USACE or DoD installation experience
  • Federal construction contract experience
  • Asbestos and lead abatement experience
  • Demolition and regulated-material removal experience
  • Experience working directly with Government safety offices

Work Location & Travel

The primary work location is E-Logic's Washington, DC office.

Travel is required to military installations and federal facilities throughout the Midwest and Northeast, including DC, VA, MD, PA, NY, NJ, New England, OH, MI, IN, KY, WV, IA, MN, MO, and WI.

Work Environment

This position combines office and construction-site work and requires regular travel to active federal construction and military installation sites. The employee must be able to enter and inspect construction, demolition, and abatement work areas, wear required PPE, walk construction sites, climb stairs, and navigate uneven terrain as required.

Key Personnel Requirement

This position is designated as Key Personnel for E-Logic's federal project requirements. The selected candidate must meet the qualifications established for the applicable contract and be available to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
