Position Overview

Seeking a highly experienced Pure Storage Certified Engineer to provide hands-on technical support, hardware maintenance, and engineering expertise for a government Pure Storage infrastructure environment. This role is responsible for ensuring continuous operational availability, resolving critical hardware and software incidents, and executing the hardware refresh program in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS).

This is a non-personal services contract position. The contractor employee reports directly to the Prime Contractor for HR, disciplinary, and administrative matters, while receiving work direction from the Government Technical Representative and the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).

This is a remote position with occasional on-site requirements as directed by the Government.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7/365 remote and on-site technical support for Pure Storage arrays, including phone, email, and web portal assistance
• Respond to critical issues within a maximum response time of one (1) hour
• Perform hardware break/fix activities, including on-site or virtual replacement of failed components (controllers, drives, power supplies, HBAs, etc.)
• Install, configure, and upgrade Pure Storage software, firmware, and security patches
• Ensure all software and firmware remain STIG-compliant
• Execute Non-Disruptive Upgrades (NDU) to maintain continuous availability
• Manage and participate in the hardware refresh program, including replacement of covered storage arrays after five (5) years of continuous support
• Install new hardware and decommission old hardware as part of the refresh cycle
• Maintain proactive monitoring through Pure1 or equivalent remote monitoring platforms
• Proactively detect, report, and resolve potential system issues before they impact operations
• Coordinate with the Support Account Manager and Government points of contact on escalated incidents
• Maintain up-to-date Pure Storage certifications throughout the life of the task order
• Participate in events and other activities where presentations or contractor presence is required
• Ensure all materials for events are prepared, delivered, and accessible

Required Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Certifications:

• Current Pure Storage technical certification (e.g., FlashArray Implementation, FlashArray Support, or equivalent)
• Must possess and maintain certification throughout the life of the task order

Experience:

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting Pure Storage FlashArray or FlashBlade environments
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience performing hardware break/fix and component replacement on enterprise storage arrays
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience with Purity operating environment and Pure1 monitoring
• Experience executing Non-Disruptive Upgrades (NDU) in production environments

Knowledge:

• Strong knowledge of Pure Storage architectures, including FlashArray//X, //C, and //RC20
• Familiarity with Evergreen//Forever subscription models
• Understanding of SAN, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, and NVMe protocols
• Broad knowledge of DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)

Language: Fluent in written and verbal English

Technical Skills: Proficiency in using Pure Storage management tools, Pure1, and DHS/DoD-approved test reporting formats

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Pure Storage in a DoD or federal government environment
• Experience with Evergreen//Forever hardware refresh programs
• Familiarity with FIPS 140-2 encryption validation and root partition encryption
• Experience with DoD enterprise architecture and network service change processes
• Experience developing and implementing scalable storage compliance practices across large organizations
• Familiarity with the Harmonized ICT Testing Baseline for Web (where applicable to storage management interfaces)
• Experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or similar

Schedule & Work Conditions

Hours: Up to 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, normal business hours (7:30 AM - 6:00 PM EST), excluding Federal holidays

Overtime: Only permitted at the Government's discretion

Telework: Remote; occasional on-site support may be required as directed by the Government

Travel: Not authorized
