POSITION SUMMARY


E-Logic, Inc. is seeking a reliable, professional, and safety-conscious Mail Van Driver to support mail transportation and delivery operations throughout Washington, D.C.

The ideal candidate must have strong familiarity with Washington, D.C., including major streets, neighborhoods, routes, and traffic patterns, and must be able to navigate the city efficiently. The driver must understand and follow established mail-handling, transportation, security, and delivery protocols and work effectively as part of a team.

This position requires a dependable individual who is punctual, organized, professional, and capable of working independently while maintaining clear communication and coordination with supervisors and team members.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safely operate an assigned mail van to transport and deliver mail, packages, documents, and related materials.
  • Pick up and deliver mail and materials between designated locations throughout Washington, D.C.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of Washington, D.C. streets, neighborhoods, major routes, traffic patterns, and local access points.
  • Plan and follow assigned routes while adjusting appropriately for traffic, road closures, construction, weather, and other conditions.
  • Follow all established mail transportation, delivery, security, handling, and chain-of-custody protocols.
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of mail and other materials while in the driver's possession.
  • Ensure all transported materials are properly secured during transit.
  • Complete required pickup and delivery documentation accurately and timely.
  • Conduct required vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Maintain consistent communication with supervisors and other members of the operations team.
  • Work effectively and respectfully with team members, supervisors, dispatch personnel, and other operational staff.
  • Coordinate with the team regarding daily assignments, route changes, delivery issues, and operational requirements.
  • Immediately report delays, missed deliveries, vehicle issues, accidents, or other operational concerns.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers, employees, government personnel, and members of the public.
  • Load and unload mail and materials as required.
  • Maintain the assigned vehicle in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
  • Follow all company policies, safety requirements, traffic laws, and customer-specific procedures.
  • Perform other transportation and logistics duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Strong knowledge of Washington, D.C., including streets, neighborhoods, routes, and traffic patterns.
  • Ability to navigate Washington, D.C. efficiently and reliably.
  • Ability to learn, understand, and consistently follow established mail-handling, transportation, security, and delivery protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to safely operate a van in urban and high-traffic environments.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Previous mail delivery or mail transportation experience.
  • Courier or delivery driving experience.
  • Logistics or transportation experience.
  • Experience working in Washington, D.C.
  • Familiarity with government, commercial, or secured delivery environments.
  • Experience working as part of a transportation or logistics team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The position may require:

  • Frequent sitting and driving for extended periods.
  • Repeated entering and exiting of the vehicle.
  • Walking and standing during pickups and deliveries.
  • Loading and unloading mail, packages, and materials.
  • Bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying materials as required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, as required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The Mail Van Driver will operate primarily throughout the Washington, D.C. area and may work in varying traffic, weather, and road conditions.

The position requires regular interaction with team members, supervisors, customers, and other personnel. The driver must maintain a professional attitude and cooperate effectively with the operations team to ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned services.

SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE

The Mail Van Driver must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, company policies, safety requirements, and established customer procedures.

The driver is responsible for immediately reporting accidents, vehicle damage, safety concerns, delivery issues, or other incidents to the appropriate supervisor.
