On- Call Laborer
Job Summary
E-Logic, Inc. is seeking dependable, safety-focused, and hardworking Laborers to support a government-related project throughout Washington, DC. The Laborer provides essential physical and operational support to the Driver by assisting with the safe loading, unloading, handling, and transportation of cargo. This role is critical to maintaining efficiency, safety, organization, and professionalism throughout all moving and delivery operations while ensuring materials are protected and project schedules are met.
This position supports a government-related project and requires a high level of professionalism, reliability, and attention to safety. Only qualified candidates who meet all job requirements will be selected. Candidates must demonstrate a strong work ethic, dependability, and relevant experience in moving, logistics, material handling, warehouse operations, or related fields.
Selected candidates must successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings, including drug testing and a background check, prior to assignment. Employees may also be subject to additional drug testing during employment and/or after completion of the assignment as required by company policy, contract requirements, and applicable regulations.

Working Hours
Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Key Responsibilities
Loading and Unloading
Assist the Driver with the safe loading and unloading of furniture, equipment, supplies, and other cargo, ensuring all items are handled carefully and positioned according to the established load plan.
Cargo Protection
Protect all transported items by using moving blankets, ratchet straps, bins, and other approved packing materials to prevent damage during loading, transportation, and unloading.
Equipment Handling
Properly use, inspect, and store moving equipment, including dollies, hand trucks, straps, bins, and packing materials, ensuring all equipment remains in good working condition.
Spotting and Navigation
Act as a spotter while the Driver is backing, parking, or maneuvering the vehicle in restricted areas. Assist with identifying safe parking locations, loading zones, and approved access areas while following all safety procedures.
Documentation and Communication
Maintain professional interactions with supervisors, clients, facility personnel, and project team members. Assist with delivery documentation, inventory verification, and obtaining authorized signatures when required.
Maintenance and Organization
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe truck interior by properly storing equipment, removing debris, and preparing the vehicle for the next workday.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in moving, logistics, warehouse operations, material handling, or related work preferred.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials weighing 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions from supervisors.
- Strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and compliance with company procedures.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to meet project schedules and deadlines.
- Ability to communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, clients, and facility representatives.
- Must comply with all project requirements, including required screenings and safety procedures.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

- Daily interaction with clients, facility personnel, warehouse personnel, and project team members.
- Must maintain a professional appearance and behavior while representing E-Logic, Inc.
