Position Summary

E-Logic, Inc. is seeking reliable and hardworking Relocation Laborers to support the relocation of Joseph C. Briscoe School in Baltimore, Maryland. This position is responsible for packing, loading, transporting, unloading, and placing school furniture, equipment, and supplies while following project procedures and safety requirements. The role is physically demanding and requires extensive lifting, stair climbing, and teamwork.

Essential Duties

Packing Day (July 27)

• Pack libraries, laboratory (excluding chemicals), offices, gym equipment, and other designated areas.
• Use commercial bins, bubble wrap, packing paper, and other approved packing materials.
• Apply color-coded labels:
• Red: First Floor
• Blue: Second Floor
• Yellow: Storage
• Seal and label boxes with the appropriate floor, room, and piece information.

Relocation Days (July 28 - August 3)

• Load and unload 26-foot box trucks.
• Move furniture, equipment, and supplies between locations.
• Carry items up and down stairs at the origin facility, which has three floors and no elevator.
• Use the elevator at the destination facility as directed.
• Handle and transport items including:
• Boxes
• Foam chairs
• Heavy metal boxes
• Whiteboards
• Clothing racks
• Wheeled tables
• Printers
• Gym equipment
• Metal detector
• Televisions
• Wood shop equipment, including a picnic table, table saw, miter saw, scaffolds, and frame cart
• Hallway items, including wall-mounted frames, hanging items, and toys
• Install floor protection at the destination before placing carts and equipment.

Operational Requirements

• Follow instructions provided by the On-Site Supervisor or Project Manager.
• Do not communicate directly with school staff. All communication must be directed through Tracy Preller.
• Attend daily end-of-day team huddles.
• Report any damaged items immediately.
• Wear the required uniform and ID badge at all times.
• Successfully complete a criminal background check and fingerprinting before beginning work.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry up to 75 pounds repeatedly.
• Climb multiple flights of stairs while carrying heavy items.
• Stand, walk, bend, and perform physical labor for eight or more hours per day.
• Work in various weather conditions as required.

Qualifications

• Previous moving or warehouse experience preferred.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Must successfully pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Work Schedule

• July 27: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM
• July 28 - August 3: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Evening or weekend work may be required with written authorization.
• Post-move day: To Be Determined.
