Network Engineer I

E-logic is seeking a Network Engineer I to provide hands-on, on-site network administration and system operations support for the Missoula Discovery Network. This specialized, high-bandwidth environment is air-gapped from the primary U.S. Forest Service (USFS) Fire, enterprise network and requires a reliable engineer for day-to-day operations, maintenance, and hardware troubleshooting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage technical intake, track issues, reset passwords, handle account lockouts, and assist users with VPN access.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot network hardware (Cisco switches and Cisco Firepower security appliances).
  • Document and manage VLANs, subnets, port assignments, and IP address spaces (IPv4 and IPv6) across a 10 Gbps fiber link.
  • Monitor and audit device logs, assist with vulnerability remediation, respond to zero-day threats within 24 hours, and conduct account reviews.
  • Maintain accurate software and hardware inventories, monitoring for End-of-Life (EOL) or End-of-Support (EOS) notices.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in network administration, help desk support, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS entries, and VLAN/subnet configurations.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible to pass a background investigation and obtain a USDA LincPass (HSPD-12 PIV
  • Must be located near Missoula, MT for daily on-site support.
