E-Logic is seeking a highly skilled IT Consultant to provide comprehensive technology support and consulting services for the NJ Department of State. This role is responsible for managing IT infrastructure, ensuring system security, supporting end users, and acting as a strategic advisor for technology initiatives across multiple departments, including administrative offices and public safety.


Key Responsibilities


Administer and maintain servers, networks, and virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).

Manage Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Windows 10/11 environments.

  • Support Active Directory, Group Policy, file/print services, and storage systems (NAS).
  • Maintain and troubleshoot network devices, firewalls, switches, and wireless infrastructure.
  • Oversee VoIP systems (Avaya) and telecommunications platforms.
  • Perform patch management, security updates, and vulnerability mitigation.
  • Monitor system logs and security events to identify threats.
  • Manage endpoint security tools (e.g., SentinelOne, ThreatLocker).
  • Provide Tier 1-3 support with defined SLAs:
  • High priority: within 1 hour
  • Medium priority: within 2 hours
  • Low priority: within 4 hours
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Manage and monitor helpdesk operations.
  • Deliver on-site support (weekly) and remote assistance as needed.
  • Maintain and monitor backup solutions.
  • Develop and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Conduct annual recovery testing.
  • Act as IT lead / advisor for technology projects.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers.
  • Support procurement planning and budgeting for IT investments.
  • Oversee installation of new equipment (desktops, network devices, cabling, etc.).
  • Administer Microsoft 365 tenant, licensing, and services.
  • Support enterprise and municipal applications (e.g., GIS, ERP, public safety systems).
  • Ensure integration and performance of business-critical applications.
  • Provide end-user training on systems and tools.
  • Maintain technical documentation, configurations, and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of IT consulting or support experience.
  • Strong background in networking, systems administration, and infrastructure management.
  • Experience supporting public sector or government environments preferred.
  • Required certifications (or equivalent experience):
  • MCSE
  • CompTIA A+
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
  • ITIL Foundation
  • Knowledge of:
  • Microsoft ecosystem (Windows Server, M365)
  • Network security and firewalls (e.g., SonicWall)
  • Virtualization technologies
